Bonjour à toutes et à tous,
Nombreux ont été les services à nous proposer du contenu vidéo en streaming comme par exemple Joost, mais cette fois c'est d'un vrai service de TVoIP dont je vais vous parler.
En effet, Zattoo vous propose de regarder en direct plusieurs chaînes exactement comme si vous aviez une télé. Bon, la sélection de chaines se limite pour le moment aux chaines du groupe France Télévision (France 2, France 3, France 4 et France 5) ainsi qu'à ABC, Al Jazeera English, Canal 24, Euronews, SD Info, sumo.tv et TVE.
De plus, si les autres services nous avaient habitués à un client très lourd disponible toujours pour Windows, parfois pour MacOS, Zattoo nous propose un client très léger (juste deux ou trois fenêtres) qui est disponible pour Windows, MacOS mais aussi pour Linux!
Côté qualité, l'image n'est pas envoyée dans une très grande résolutin mais vous pourrez néanmoins suivre vos émissions assez confortablement. Le son quant à lui est d'une qualité plus que satisfaisante.
On regrettera par contre que contrairement à ce dont nous avons l'habitude maintenant avec nos bouquets satellites, cablés ou ADSL il n'y ait aucune information sur les programmes à suivre ou en cours. Peut-être une future fonctionnalité?
Il s'agit donc d'un bon service gratuit pour les itinérants ou ceux qui ne disposent pas d'une télé où ils sont et qui veulent pouvoir suivre un journal télé ou se divertir un peu mais on reste malgré tout loin du Home Cinema, ce qui ne semble pas être le but de ce service.

Several services exist that propose us video content via streaming such as, for example, Joost, but this time, I'm going to tell you about a real TVoIP service.
In fact, Zattoo allows you to watch different channels live as if you had a TV. There are not many channels available at this time : you can watch France 2, France 3, France 4 and France 5 and also ABC, Al Jazeera English, Canal 24, Euronews, SD Info, sumo.tv and TVE.
Moreover, other services of this kind generally proposed us an heavy-weight client for Windows and sometimes for MacOS. Zattoo has a pretty light client composed by one or two windows and available for Windows, MacOS and also Linux!
Regarding quality, the image is not sent in a very high resolution but it is good enough to be viewable. The sound's quality is also pretty good.
On the other hand, Zattoo is missing informations programs running or to be run although we are used to have these informations via satellites, cable or tv on ADSL. Maybe a future feature?
As a conclusion we can say that it is a good free service for people who are on mobility or who don't have a TV but it's far from being an home cinema.
